The steps to create an account are outlined below: 1. Click on the "Create a Wallet" button. 2. Create a password. This will be used when logging in to MetaMask in the same browser. 3. View your secret seed phrase and write it down on a secure location. 4. Never give your seed phrase out to anyone. This can be used similar to your password to access your account. After developing a deeper understanding of the game mechanisms, players are encouraged to formulate their own strategies to achieve different objectives. Depending on playstyle preferences, here are the two basic modes players can start with: * DeFi Farmer, or * P2E Gamer. ### DeFi Farmer By staking crypto assets (i.e., LP-Pancakeswap) in the staking pool, DeFi farmers can obtain mining power. After assigning mining power to each individual mining facility, DeFi farmers can mine each Commodity Token (i.e., Iron, *Silicon*, *Gold*, and *Energy*) with the mining speed according to the assigned mining power. The staking pool has no mandatory lock-up period nor performance fee for withdrawing players' staked crypto assets. The staking pool is routed through Pancakeswap which guarantees its safety. #### DeFi farmers may use Commodity Tokens in the following ways: * Spend Commodity Tokens to upgrade mining infrastructure to improve mining efficiencies. * Mint starships using Commodity Tokens to explore the Light Year universe * Obtain *LC* by depositing Commodity Tokens in the daily burn pool * Swap Commodity Tokens on the marketplace ### P2E Gamer Gamers may obtain Commodity Tokens and *LC* by swapping them in the marketplace. Tokens allow gamers to mint NFTs: * Use Commodity Tokens --> Mint Starships * *Use LC* --> Mint Heroes To explore the Light Year universe, gamers need to assemble fleets to undertake missions. A fleet is composed of starships which determine the performance rating of the fleet. Within the fleet, Heroes can be assigned to starships to enhance the overall performance. #### P2E gamers may deploy fleets to undertake the following tasks: * PvE: Explore outer space, fight through levels of enemies, and be rewarded with Commodity Tokens and rare drop-offs. * PvP: Deploy fleets to attack other players, and plunder their base for unclaimed Commodity Tokens * Instance Dungeon: Deploy fleets to attend weekly black hole adventures. Fighting through space battles and obtaining more commodities, P2E gamers can mint more starships, further expand their fleets, and upgrade their starships. Moreover, gamers can use *LC* to summon more powerful heroes which will increase their in-game performance. Based on players‘ various rankings and achievements, we will gradually distribute 50% of the *LC* supply to players through smart contracts in a decentralized way. Currently, *LC* has the following usages: * Rewards to players. * Fees for speeding up the recovery of the damaged/injured units * Fees for summoning heroes. * Medium of exchange for NFTs. * Voting tickets once the decentralized governance is in place. # ⛏️ Staking and Mining {% hint style="info" %} DeFi farmers can stake crypto assets (liquidity pairs) and mine Commodity Tokens. {% endhint %} ## Staking and Mining If one player wants to mine commodities by himself, he is supposed to stake some crypto assets into the staking pools. These upgradeable items are managed in 3 tabs: **Production, Research, and Defense.** Certain items may enhance the production rate of certain commodities. For instance, a research item called "Nuclear Transmutation" may increase the production rate of GOLD by 10%. # 🔥 Burn Commodities For LC {% hint style="info" %} With daily burn pool, players can trade in extra Commodity Tokens to obtain *LC*. {% endhint %} Players can deposit Commodity Tokens to the daily burning pools. Every day, each Commodity Token burn pool will release a fixed number of *LC* to the players who have deposited the Commodity Token. The amount of Commodity Tokens each player receive will be proportionate to his share in the pool (i.e., on a pro-rata basis). For instance, you just deposited **100 *****GOLD*** to the Gold burn pool, and ***200 IRON*** to the Iron burn pool. By the end of the day, the Gold burn pool has received 100,000 GOLD and the Iron burn pool 400,000 IRON. The Gold and Iron burn pool will each release **1000 *****LC*** daily to its depositors. You share 0.1% of the Gold burn pool and 0.05% of the Iron burn pool. You will then receive 1 and 0.5 *LC* from the Gold and Iron burn pool respectively. # 🛳️ Starships {% hint style="info" %} Starships are the basic NFT units in the Light Year universe. {% endhint %} To carry out missions in the galaxy, you need to deploy a fleet that is composed of starships (up to 4 starships). Therefore, starships are the main components in Light Year. Each ship carries unique functions and intended usage in the fleet. For example, the cargo ship tends to have a large capacity to transport resources; and the battleship excels in delivering damages to the enemy ships. Each ship type has its own different classes. Each starship class comes with different building costs and focus of attributes, and is suitable for different strategic maneuvers. Therefore, do your research and make your strategic decisions wisely. Each hero can serve as the captain of one starship. And his/her own special ability and attributes can add additional values to the starship and thus increase the performance of the whole fleet when carrying out missions. For example, an asteroid engineer can improve the mining performance of a miner ship. Interested buyer will acquire the NFT after paying the listed price. \[To be finished] # 🌌 PvE: Space Exploration {% hint style="info" %} Reward: Commodity Tokens + fragment of asteroid {% endhint %} To obtain resources, players can also conduct space exploration missions. Every day, player can deploy fleets to undertake the space exploration mission. The mission involves your fleet fighting through **5 levels** of opponents of varying difficulties. The first level is the easiest and the fifth level is the hardest. The harder the level comes with better rewards. Achieving victory at each level will reward you Commodity Tokens. The possibility of obtaining the fragments is small, but the potential value is enormous. The Fragments of Asteroid could be obtained after the player succeeds all five levels of the space exploration mission. After the completion of all five victories, one piece of the fragment will appear in the item list along with the resources obtained through all 5 victories. The player needs to gather all 4 pieces of the fragments to complete one full asteroid. They will then be able to mine the asteroid of an enormous source of resources. \[To be finished] # 🏴‍☠️ PvP: Plunder Mode {% hint style="info" %} Available in Phase 2 (one month after main launch) {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} Reward: Commodity Tokens {% endhint %} Plunder mode enables a player to plunder other players' resources. The player needs to assemble a fleet capable of fighting and input the coordinates of the player to plunder. Then the player can deploy his fleet to travel through space and attack the other player's base. After successfully defeating the enemy's defending fleet and his planetary defense system, your fleet is ready to plunder. You can take whatever resources are left in your enemy's base given that the amount does not exceed the cargo capacity of your fleet. **Please note that you may only take resources from other players’ bases**. After the player launches a transport mission to transport his resources to the center of the galaxy, you cannot take the resources being transported. Follow the steps below to plunder resources: 1. Assemble a fleet of ships with high damage output. 2. Enter the destination coordinates for your fleet to attack. 3. Deploy your fleet to travel to the destination. 4. Once arrived, command your fleet to attack the enemy base. 5. Upon victory, plunder resources and take them back to your base. Please note that it could take hours to travel to the destination. Successfully completing the mission will grant players generous rewards including resources, LC, or even super rare NFTs. When the black hole appears, the player needs to assemble a fleet and deploy it to enter into the black hole. Inside the black hole, a random selection of quests will appear and require the player to undertake. **The player might need to clear waves of enemies, collaborate with each other, or battle against other players.** Players will be rewarded according to their performances. Top players will receive the most generous rewards. # 🥌 Asteroid Exploitation {% hint style="info" %} Available in Phase 2 (one month after main launch) {% endhint %} The Fragment of Asteroid is a rare drop-off from the PvE quests after the player clears out all the waves of enemies. With enough asteroid fragments gathered, the player can construe a complete asteroid and start mining resources from it. And currently the game produces 10,000 LC per day and distribute them to players. As **promised** in the **roadmap**, we will make the **2nd game** and add it to the **Light Year product matrix** by the end of the year. The following is a little overview of our plan: Inspired by [STEPN](https://www.stepn.com/) and [Pokemon Go](https://pokemongolive.com/), the product will be a move-to-earn web3 game application in mobile devices. The idea is very simple that players can walk around to fight against fantasy creatures, and earn rewards of tokens or NFTs from the battles. Most likely the app will be built on top of Solana and will take us approximately 4 months to finish. We don’t have a name for the new product yet, and we will later call for a name from the community.
